Bike of the Month - December 2006

This is my 1974 Honda CR250M Elsinore that I restored from March 2006 to October 2006. I had a CR125M as a kid but couldn't afford the 250...until now. I purchased the bike off of MCMART.com as a well used/abused, but complete runner.
The bike uses a lot of the original parts that have been cleaned, painted, plated etc., to get it where it is now. There is also a fair amount of NOS and clean used parts.
I've always loved the swoopy lines and underslung pipe, plus Honda's liberal use of forged aluminum and chrom-moly tasty bits. I just think it's one of the best looking race bikes ever made!
I'd like to thank a couple of folks for all there help....Nathan, Thanks for a great site, Terry at Western Hills Honda, Don at Vintage Elsinores for the paint and tank, Ron at A&A Global (410) 252-1020 for powdercoating the frame and many other small parts, and CMSNL for the impossible to find parts.
I tried to get this bike as close as possible to the factory look, even duplicating the yellow paint on some of the torqued fasteners. I even turned up a toolkit.
I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did restoring an preserving it. It really was a labor of love.
