This is my 1982 Honda CR480R Twinshock conversion.

I bought this bike from DK Off Road for this project. It started out as a stock bike with a Pro-Link rear suspension using a single shock with remote reservoir.

I started by stripping the bike down to every last nut and bolt. I then sent the frame off to be converted to a twin-shock using 17.5" Ohlin shocks.

The next step was to send the frame off to Candy Wheels, based in Tatsfield, to have it powder coated and also to have new wheels built. I then decided to have the engine rebuilt. Every seal and bearing was replaced. I had an aluminium tank made by GMX in Braintree, which really set the bike off.

The plastics were painted and wrapped in clear material to stop chipping by Lynx Signs in Biggin Hill. The project was completed by myself and a really dedicated good friend of mine Ian Fairhurst. We both spent hours replacing old parts on the bike with new parts, even the alumium air box.

I hope to be riding the bike for the first time in the RDH Twinshock Motocross at Warmington Lane on July 14/15th. Can't wait!

Regards,

Mark
