If you have ever purchased a bike with white marks on the fenders, rad shouds or side panels, you probably deduced that they were caused by a crash in which the plastic was pushed past it's elastic limits and left a permanent reminder behind. Well, this can be fixed a lot of the time with a heat gun (not a hair dryer). Just apply the heat to the area and heat the plastic up so that the colored pigment in the plastic flows into the stressed white area. Take your time and do it gradually, on both sides of the plastic, so you don't melt the plastic.

Nathan,

Did you practice on leftover/extra plastic parts first or were you just really careful with the heat gun the first time you used it on the plastic parts you were fixing?
