Gone are the days of low strength baling wire to "fix" broken items on your bike so you can get through the next moto. Go down to your local dealership and pick up a coil of safety wire like the road racers use. It's stainless steel and much stronger and thinner than baling wire. I once broke a rear brake rod and ran a few loops of saftey wire beteen the brake pedal and the rear brake actuator and it worked like a charm through two motos. This stuff is right up there with duct tape!

Let me tell you all little known fact about safety wire, It will save your #@@ when you are in a jam. I am a jet engine mechanic in the US Navy and we have used safety wire on engines for years and it really is a life saver on bikes, just pick up a set of safety wire pliers and a roll of wire which comes in many different sizes .32 is one of the more versatle sizes and you will be set.
